Experience
A Principal, Bryan currently co-leads the Financial Modelling and Risk Management practice. He joined Eckler’s Toronto pension and benefits team in 2011, following five years with another major consulting firm. His expertise includes stochastic modelling for both defined benefit plans and defined contributions plans, as well as setting Eckler’s capital market assumptions.
Prior to focusing on the financial modelling practice, Bryan worked as a defined benefit pension consultant. In this role, he consulted on both single-employer and multi-employer pension plans, with extensive work on funding, solvency, and accounting valuations, plan design, and administration.
Bryan graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours, Bachelor of Science, specialist in actuarial science. He is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and an executive member of the Society of Actuaries examination committee. Bryan was also a member of the Actuarial Standards Board designated group that is reviewing the pension Standards of Practice with respect to modelling and meaningful stress testing.
