Experience

Mazen brings over 30 years of experience to Eckler’s investment team, with over 25 years in the pension / investment consulting industry and over five years with a large Canadian insurance company. His long experience as a pension consultant / actuary gives him a unique understanding of the investment issues and de-risking challenges / opportunities facing DB plan sponsors. His experience leading the investment, product and research, and marketing teams for the group retirement business of Canada’s largest DC record keeper provide him with a deep understanding of the issues facing DC plan sponsors and members.

A passionate advocate and active participant in industry, Mazen is a frequent speaker at national and regional industry conferences. He is a past member of the ACPM National Policy Committee, the CIA Pension Practice Committee, and the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC). He has also participated in CAPSA Industry Working Groups. He is currently a member of the Canadian Corporate Committee of the IFEBP.

Mazen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics from the University of Toronto and is a Fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries.
