Eckler announces 2023 Principal appointments
As Canada’s leading independently owned actuarial and consulting firm, Eckler is managed by its active Principals across Canada and the Caribbean. We are pleased to announce our most recent Principal appointments in our pension and benefits and property and casualty insurance consulting practices.
Milos Gavrilovic, FCIA, FSA, CERA
Milos is a member of Eckler’s investment consulting team with over a decade of industry experience. He is responsible for producing asset liability management studies for a variety of clients, as well as Eckler’s capital market assumptions and stochastic projections. In 2021, Milos became co-leader of the Financial Modelling and Risk Management (FMRM) practice. A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Milos is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He is also a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst, a designation assigned by the Society of Actuaries. Congratulations, Milos!
Dane Grand-Maison, FCAS, FCIA, MBA
Dane joined Eckler’s property and casualty consulting (P&C) practice in 2018. With over 15 years of insurance industry experience from Canada and the United Kingdom, Dane has extensive expertise in the valuation of policy liabilities, gained through his ongoing work supporting appointed actuaries and as an external reviewer of the work of other appointed actuaries for Canadian P&C insurers. Dane is also an expert in financial forecasting, financial reporting and automobile insurance pricing. Dane is a graduate of Laval University, and a Fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS). He also holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Rotman School of Business. Congratulations, Dane!
Eva Helgerson-Imbeault, FSA, FCIA, LL.M., Fisc
With Eckler since 2013, Eva specializes in pension consulting for the private sector and is a key resource for EB2 when it comes to strategic client engagements, including investment-related work such as the preparation, negotiation, and implementation of buy-in and buy-out transactions. In 2022, Eva took on a new challenge by expanding her expertise into group benefits consulting as well. She also recently took on more leadership responsibilities for EB2’s private sector pension practice. She continues to play an integral role in the growth of EB2 through employee recruitment and management, operations, marketing activities, business development, tools development, onboarding new clients, and more. Eva is a graduate of HEC Montréal (Master in Law and Taxation) and the Université Laval (Actuarial Sciences). She is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Geneviève Larouche FSA, FCIA
Geneviève joined EB1’s Retirement practice in 2013, following four co-operative placements in the industry through Concordia University’s Institute for Co-operative Education. Geneviève’s primary role is a pension actuary on corporate pension accounts. Her expertise includes pension plan administration, actuarial valuations, pension plan funding, plan wind-ups, asset transfers and pension accounting. She is bilingual, speaking French as a first language. A graduate of Concordia University, Geneviève is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Thane MacKay, FSA, FCIA
Thane is a member of Eckler’s consulting team in Atlantic Canada, helping to build our presence on the East Coast from his base in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He joined the firm after serving as the Managing Partner of Atlantic Canada for another pension and benefits consulting firm, where he managed a team that provided pension and investment consulting, pension administration, and workers’ compensation consulting services. Thane is a graduate of both the University of Waterloo and Dalhousie University. He is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA). Bryan Merida, FSA, FCIA
Bryan joined Eckler’s pension and benefits team in 2011, following five years with another major consulting firm. A senior practitioner in EB1’s Financial Modelling and Risk Management (FMRM) practice, his expertise includes stochastic modelling for pension and benefit plans. He also sets Eckler’s capital market assumptions. In his client work, Bryan is a financial modelling expert conducting asset liability studies with a focus on liabilities. In 2021, Bryan became co-leader of the FMRM practice. Bryan is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Mathematics, Actuarial Science. He is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Congratulations, Bryan!
Anand Parsan, C.Dir.
Anand joined the firm in 2022 to build Eckler’s new compensation consulting practice. He is an HR professional with a combination of strategic and technical skills honed over 25 years of consulting and industry experience. He is a trusted advisor to Board members and management, supporting organizational objectives, aligned with shareholders’ interests, through the expert design and implementation of corporate governance and compensation programs. Before joining Eckler, Anand has worked as a senior total rewards practice leader for other major consulting firms. Anand is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the Chartered Director (C.Dir.) Program from McMaster University. He also holds a Global Professional of Human Resources (GPHR) designation from the Human Resource Certification Institute in Virginia. Congratulations, Anand!
Guillaume Richard, FCIA, FSA
Guillaume joined Eckler in 2018 after spending almost eight years at a global human resources consulting firm. His diverse experience includes pension, group benefits, actuarial consulting, and a global secondment to Germany. Guillaume has significant experience consulting to both trusteed arrangements and organizations in the corporate sector, which provides him with the ability to bring a wide array of insights to the governance and risk management of pension and group benefit plans. A graduate of Laval University, Guillaume is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He is also fully bilingual in English and French. Dianne Tamburro, CFA
Dianne joined EB1’s Investment Consulting practice in 2019, bringing with her over 20 years of industry experience, most of which was spent at consulting firms ranging from large multinationals to a small boutique firm. She also worked at a major insurance company conducting investment manager research and due diligence. Today, she serves as lead and backup consultant to clients of all sizes with defined contribution and defined benefit plans. She works across various areas, including governance, investments, record keeper selection and plan design. Dianne is a graduate of the University of Toronto, and she holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Congratulations, Dianne!
Shannon Tesluck, FSA, FCIA
With Eckler since 2013, Shannon has 16 years of industry experience. Her areas of expertise include pension plan design, administration, funding and accounting valuations, with experience across multiple jurisdictions. She has worked with both public and private sector clients. Prior to Eckler, Shannon worked as an Actuarial Consultant at another consulting firm. She currently leads the national Pension Administration practice. Shannon is a graduate of the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba. She is also a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Congratulations, Shannon!
