Edward Tsu-Jen Kuo

With over 15 years of experience in group insurance, Edward brings extensive hands-on knowledge in plan design, pricing, and client advocacy. As an actuary, Edward’s approach is grounded in theory; as an entrepreneur, Edward’s approach is practical. With his accumulated experience at one of the largest insurance companies in Canada and various consulting roles, Edward always finds a balance between the two.

Edward’s consulting experience is shared between the US and Canada. For five years, Edward was the consulting actuary for some of the largest utility companies in the US Eastern seaboard, involved in complex valuations, plan design, regulatory reporting, collective bargaining, and mergers and acquisitions. Edward was the consulting actuary for medium to large CPG and manufacturing companies in Canada for four years, involved in plan design, pricing, and financial projections and management. For seven years, Edward co-led the niche group business at one of the largest insurers in Canada, focusing on associations, affinity, and creditor insurance programs.

Edward is actively involved in the community with entrepreneurial mentorship focusing on start-ups and distressed corporate re-organizations. While the industries of interest vary, Edward’s passion for customer service and experience is in the hospitality, food, and beverage space. Edward is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and is often found volunteering his time to share the joys and knowledge of wine with communities who have historically found wine inaccessible.
