Experience
A Principal in Eckler’s Toronto Financial Services practice, Josephine joined the firm in 2012. She has over 30 years of financial sector experience, having previously worked with two major Canadian insurance companies, a major public-sector pension plan and a major Canadian bank.
Her extensive experience includes various financial aspects of insurance and pension operations, with a focus on asset-liability management, risk management, product design and development, financial reporting and governance. She has overseen the investment management of major pension and insurance funds with a particular emphasis on designing unique asset-liability linked portfolio structures and with material hedging programs.
Josephine currently serves as an Appointed Actuary for six Canadian life insurance companies. She also has expertise conducting independent peer reviews for life insurers, providing advice on mergers and acquisitions, ALM reviews for life insurance, property and casualty insurance and pension plans, advising financial institutions on implementing international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and financial modelling for pension plans and group insurance benefits.
A Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, Josephine is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
