Experience

A qualified actuary (FCIA, FSA), Marie-Andrée is a Principal in our Montreal-based financial services consulting practice. She is also a member of Eckler’s Board of Directors. She has led several types of assignments, namely: Appointed actuary related work, financial condition testing (FCT), embedded values, appraisal value assignments and pricing of both life and accident and sickness products. She is also involved in assignments related to the IFRS 17 Standard. She has a strong knowledge of AVE and AXIS.

Since 2012 Marie-Andrée has been the appointed actuary for a foreign life insurance company and for two Canadian companies since 2016. She has been a member of the  Committee on Life Insurance Financial Reporting (CLIFR) for the Canadian Institute of Actuaries Committee) since 2016, Vice-Chair of that committee in 2017 and 2018 and Chair since 2019.

Marie-Andrée obtained the Governor’s silver medal in 2001 and was elected La Presse personality of the week in 2001.

  • Currently serves as a member of CLIFR’s IFRS 17 subcommittee on the Estimates of future cash flows for Life and Health Contracts
  • 2017-2018: Served as Vice-Chair of CLIFR and as a member of the CIA IFRS 17 Steering Committee

Personal

Marie-Andrée is an active volunteer in her community. She currently serves as a member of the board of Collège Jean de la Mennais, Laprairie.
